What do insulin pumps do during exercise?
So I have type 1 diabetes and imnot on the pump but i would like to get one. Now, when I exercise I take carbs to get my bloodsugar up so that the exercise will lower it. this works some of the time depending on how hard my workout is. But I will be getting a pump soon and im just wondering how this works with exercise because it says you dont have to eat a bunch of carbs before your exercise because the pump will keep your blood sugar at a normal level. How can this be if now I have to eat a bunch but with the pump i wont? Hope this makes sense haha thanks

Where can I buy insulin pump supplies at a discounted price?

We were gone for 2.5 days and my kids left the refrigerator open and my insulin was in there. is it ok to use?

Need some advice concerning trying to get on an insulin pump?
I've been told that i need to try a few more things first such as a change of injection sites which to be honest does seem to have improved the predictability of insulin absorption, and that i need to test less and be a little calmer and happier before they " consider" letting me get one.Although moving the injection sites has helped, and it is best for me to lay of the testing a bit, I still firmly belive that getting onto an insulin pump would help me control blood sugar levels much better. I have a very good theoretical understanding of how pumps work and my current insulin injection regime has been hit and miss since I was put on it in 2006.with an insulin pump I would no longer have to inject, I could be more specific and fine tune my basal doseage much more flexiablely than with a lantus injection and I could be less worried about exercising within a novo rapid peak time, hence greatly reduced risks of hypos. So i just don't understand the problem? To be fair I have only just changed hospitals and the staff don't really know me and my situation too well yet. I know I will have to be patient but I find it very hard. any advice, or relevant information that may help will be appreciated thanks.

Diabetes and Insulin on Beer Question.?
My dad who is 49 and had diabetes for the last 15 25 years drank alot today. He had 9 shots of jack daniel's whiskey and 4 Budweiser. He usually takes 20 units of insulin every night. Do I give him insulin tonight? I just checked his blood glucose level and it's 4.8mmol canadian blood glucose machine . That is actually considered normal here in canada. So do I give him insulin... or no? Will his blood glucose decrease overnight? Cuz if his blood glucose level drops, he gets crazy and acts like a little kid and also gets violent sometimes. I don't want his blood glucose level dropping so I am not planning on giving him the insulin, but will it get higher overnight or lower overnight? and should i feed him a cookie or something? Yes he had a good dinner and before that he drank. I just checked his glucose level and it's at 4.8mmol 1 hour after dinner.Let me know what the best thing to do is? He's currently sleeping.
