Thirstiness and urination but not diabetes?

Question: Thirstiness and urination but not diabetes?

(Posted by: Anonymous on 2010-02-08 03:50:23)

I got my fasting blood gluscose test back which was 4.9 so I don't know why I'm constantly thirsty, I don't think it's diabetes insipidus as the only reason I'm going to the toilet is because I'm drinking alot, what else could it be?

Thirst can be a symptom of many, many different things. You need to go to back to your doc if things haven't sorted. No-one on here can diagnose you, and they'd be stupid to try, and 'thirst' is pretty vague and is present in an awful lot of conditions. Talk to your doc, and get it sorted. Good luck !

I presume that you are drinking alcohol a lot. That itself could be the reason for your thirst and urination. Thirst, because alcohol induces dehydration due to increased urination and also due to ethanol induced gastritis. Liver also loses its capacity to produce essential secretions. Alcohol also induces Pancreatitis.
